AXOCLINUS

TRIPLEFINS

Body short, robust; head large; three dorsal fins; cirri on head small, simple, 1pair over eyes; no teeth on sides of roof of mouth; lateral line complete or incomplete, curved down behind pectoral-fin base to midline, almost invariably with notched scales at rear; dorsal fin soft rays unbranched; pelvic fins completely separate; anal fin with II spines; scales small, none on head

This genus, with 6 species, is endemic to our region.
